Think how many times a day you use the word ‘love’. Now think about how many times you say the word and really mean it.

Kino MacGregor shares her thoughts on what ‘love’ really is and what the word means to her.

“Love, let’s talk about love. Because really, what does it mean to love. To be devoted to, to yearn for, to cherish, to honour, to worship, to hunger for, to crave, to desire, to serve, to be enraptured by. What do you love, what does love mean to you?

We “love” everything from pizza to people, from cities to football teams, we love this or that. Or do we? What is love really?

When we talk about love, what do we really talk about?

I had a thought: what if every moment could be spent in this state of love, if every action truly came from love, if every breath was a breath of love, if everything really was just that, filled with love, all about love, only love.

There is something grand and powerful, limitless and unconditional, that pervades every molecule of the universe. There is a Presence whose peace exceeds everything else. I have experienced a Divine rapture that intoxicated me with love, pure, true, everlasting love, so total and complete, so obliterating and annihilating that it wiped the world away, so ecstatic that my spirit sang with joy.

    Love.

Not the normal kind, not the way we love this outfit or a good cup of coffee, but love, of the infinite kind, of the deepest and truest sense. And just one taste of this elixir left me forever changed. And just one moment spent in this bliss wiped away the deep scars of the past, left me cleansed by the fire and light, gave me happiness beyond anything I’ve known before.

    Love. Yes, love.

And I had a thought: what if every moment could be spent in this state of love, if every action truly came from love, if every breath was a breath of love, if everything really was just that, filled with love, all about love, only love.

Yes, I believe in love. The infinite, orgasmic, ecstatic, rapturous, all-encompassing, throw yourself in with no holds barred, surrender it all and lose yourself forever, eternally, blissfully, fully, kind of love.”
